Melanie Holt is highly trained, experienced and has been professionally certified by the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners, Inc (ABFDE). Melanie uses stringent scientific examination techniques when undertaking all examinations.

Melanie has experience working on criminal proceedings as well as civil and private matters. The types of cases she has worked on include: wills and estate matters, business and real estate contracts, homicides, threats/anonymous letters, drug importations, mortgage and identity fraud, kidnapping, and extortion. Melanie is a court-recognised expert who has provided evidence in some capacity in over 250 criminal and approximately 300 civil cases, both in Australia and overseas (Hong Kong, Singapore, Fiji and Vanuatu).

The main purpose of a handwriting or signature examinations is to determine authorship, i.e. who wrote or signed a questioned document.
